I was cleaning things out the other day and came across a 2×3” card. The words on it are terse but significant. It says:

God’s presence is our companion,
God’s love our protection,
God’s power our strength,
God’s wisdom our guidance.

I like the reminder that God is everything to us. God gives us life and everything we need to live it well according to his will and his way. Without God, we can do nothing. With God, all things are possible.

We need God all the time. It’s easy to get distracted and forget that. With summer upon us, we tend to fill up our schedules with all kinds of things. Living in Rochester, NY, we need to cram as much as we can into the few brief months of warm weather. Before we know it fall will be here and the not so great weather that often accompanies it. In the busyness of the summer, I encourage you to make time for God. Pray and read your Bible every day. Worship with us on the Sundays you are in town and somewhere else when you are away. Keep Christ at the center of your life and be open to the work of the Holy Spirit around you. You’ll have the best summer ever!

In Christ’s love,

Pastor Anne
